When we want to know God's will, we have to read his Word. Believe it or not, The Bible is the first place Jesus reveals his heart for us. The Psalmist said, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105) There's a consistent theme through Psalm 119 about how the Word of God is all sufficient. Not somewhat trustworthy or compartmentalized to faith topics, or valuable with some of your work stress. God says He is ALL sufficient, so his Word is sufficient for every thing. In Proverbs, King Solomon challenges us to love with abandon. He said, "When you live a life of abandoned love, surrendered before the awe of God, here’s what you’ll experience: Abundant life. Your worldview matters because where you place your eyes affects your focus! In Romans 12, the Apostle Paul says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (NIV) Maybe instead of saying our citizenship, I should say our identity has to be centered on God before everything else, or we'll eventually find ourselves in a web of confusion.
